Trilobites at Dusk

Dicranurus and Paralejurus trilobites scavenging in a tide pool at dusk. The look of the tide pool and the rocky coast is based on intertidal rocks along the coast of Rhode Island. In early spring, the upper limit of the intertidal zone is covered with an almost neon green layer of Ulva intestinalis algae, which will almost completely disappear in summer as it's eaten by herbivores.
