Schinderhannes bartelsi

An Anomalocaris from the Devonian! Pretty cool. I find its highly-modified fins particularly intriguing-- it looks like its developing an awfully fish-like body. Maybe if evolution had gone a little differently our oceans would be teeming with anomalocarids today instead of teleosts and elasmobranchs. Who knows?
I chose to illustrate Schinderhannes because, as far as I've been able to find, there's only about three or four reconstructions of it on the web.
