In my book the source of main character Sakura’s transformation is the Spear of Creation which merges her with the fire deity Kagu-tsuchi-no-kami. But where did this god and the divine spear come from in the first place?

Edward Hitchcock- the Founder of Ichnology
Since I started working at Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, CT, I've learned a lot about the history of paleontology in Connecticut. A lot of milestones in the study of ancient life happened right here in the Nutmeg state, not the least of which is the founding of the Yale Peabody Museum which houses many of the spectacular finds of Othniel Charles Marsh.
But another great contributor to the study of ancient life was Edward Hitchock, a professor at Amherst College who did the first scientific study of the dinosaur footprints that are abundant in the Connecticut Valley.

Halloween Book Reviews
Scary stories were a huge part of my childhood, so for the Halloween season I wanted to do a bunch of reviews of the horror anthologies I grew up with. I'd been hoping to start at the beginning of October, but real life kept me busy for a while. I'll do as many as I can, and may even go into November to fill the void until Thanksgiving.
